The BAKER BATSHIELD® allows both hands on the weapon, for quick and accurate delivery of firepower! Controlled, accurate shot placement increases safety margins for both the shield user and innocent bystanders during a violent confrontation.


The BAKER BATSHIELD® is approximately half the weight of conventional “bunkers!” Speed is safety, now you can bring your cover with you! Fast, quick bodily movements are easy. Long term usage, as would occur during a protracted building search, is now possible.



Only the BAKER BATSHIELD® allows the operator two handed manipulation of firearms without loss of the ballistic shield protection. Reloads, malfunction clearing and quick and efficient transitioning between long gun and pistol is now possible without putting the shield down and losing ballistic protection!


The BAKER BATSHIELD® permits multiple shielded handgun or long-gun operators to simultaneously engage armed adversaries and deliver quick, accurate firepower while moving towards the threat(s). The BAKER BATSHIELD® can be temporarily stowed onto the operator’s person by means of a simple “tether” attachment, to the front or back of the operator’s torso as desired. When the BAKER BATSHIELD® is swung around to protect the back torso, both hands are completely free… as would be needed during an “officer down” or innocent citizen rescue situation.


Silence of operation is maximized with the BAKER BATSHIELD®. The armor panels are all encased in soft, padded flame resistant fabrics for smooth and silent operations. Stealth-like movement increases safety.


The design of the BAKER BATSHIELD® allows the two outboard armor “wing” panels the ability to individually articulate for use in narrow and confined areas. The wings automatically move in towards the body when bumped up against an object, and then move back to the original opened position when the object is passed. This allows the shield to be used inside public transportation vehicles and in extremely tight quarters.


The BAKER BATSHIELD® “breakaway” carrying case allows for rapid shield deployment when carried by the shoulder strap. The shield can be quickly opened and the weapon instantly presented, as may be advantageous during a protection detail or casual approach to a potentially dangerous situation.


The shield bearer is provided instant “emergency” ballistic protection while the Baker Batshield® is still folded and stowed inside the carrying case, by means of externally installed hand-holds found on the exterior sides of the case. The carry case is compact and can be transported inside a patrol vehicle.


In addition to deadly weapons, the “weapon guide” shooting platform located in the “notch” on top of the center armor panel will accommodate most “less lethal” weapons such as Taser®, beanbags and pepper sprays. The Baker Batshield® reduces the inherent risk factor when approaching a deranged individual to deliver a “less lethal” solution.

There are a number of ingenious yet subtle cross-purpose safety features built-in to each Baker Batshield® that enables the user to seamlessly maintain control of the shield while the armor is enduring multiple ballistic impacts. This safety “battle hardening” redundancy is an important design feature needed to instill product confidence during aggressive offensive operations.


The Baker Batshield®’s outer wing perimeter’s “scalloped” shape provides a second and third rear shooter a protected shooting position. This same “scalloped” shape enables the shield the ability to silently “drag” along a wall using the minimal contact of the armor “tips”.


The upper armored region of each Baker Batshield® is wider, providing excellent torso ballistic coverage, including extensive neck and head protection from angled, unseen threats. The shield bearer is granted virtually unrestricted visibility of the frontal target acquisition region. The lower narrow “scalloped” perimeter of the shield provides leg relief and a much better view of foot and leg level obstructions, allowing the shield to remain vertical, aiding in speed and fluid motion around obstacles and terrain.


The Baker Batshield® is highly compatible with most patrol rifle models, sub-machine guns and many shotgun models. The shield bearer remains protected behind the shield during long-gun and handgun transitions.


The Baker Batshield® is compatible with many popular weapon mounted high-intensity lighting systems.


A removable, lightweight, wide angle, medium intensity L.E.D. lighting system is available for the Baker Batshield®. A simple switch provides on/off functions. Utilizing common Lithium batteries, the run time is in excess of two hours.
